Are you interested in becoming a notary? Learn the steps needed to become a notary, including the application process, and discover everything you can do as a registered notary in Maine. The last week of the class will also go through how to perform weddings as a notary.

with National Digital Equity Center

Learn about the different types of internet fraud and scams, the dos and don’ts of protecting yourself online and what to do if you have experienced online fraud or abuse. This onsite class is offered for free in partnership with the National Digital Equity Center.
Beginner Braided Mug Rug

Get started with rug braiding and make this small circular mat. You will learn how to begin a circular rug, what fabrics to use and where to find them, and how to lace it so that it lays flat. After you learn to braid a mug rug, you can use the same skills to braid a continuous chair pad or a larger rug later on. Materials fee: $12 Bring: Scissors
Spring Floral Wreath

Design and create your own spring floral wreath in this one night class! Jessi will be providing foliage. Bring: clippers for cutting foliage. Materials fee: $21

Introduction to Welding
with Jim Dochtermann

This is an introductory course for beginners and hobbyists that are interested in learning the basics of GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding). We will discuss concepts of how welding works, safety, machine operation, and basic techniques in MIG welding. Bring: Appropriate clothing and footwear such as cotton-based clothing (non-synthetic, “old” clothing and jackets that you don’t mind getting damaged), leather boots, and hair ties for long hair. Other PPE such as welding helmets, gloves, and safety glasses will be provided but you’re welcome to bring your own if you prefer to do so such as safety glasses that can fit over prescription glasses. Materials fee: $30
Keeping the Keys
with Tom Baran (AAA) and Sheriff King

Minimize your risk while driving. This class will help you understand how driving abilities change as a result of natural aging. We will identify ways you can compensate for those changes to minimize driving risks and continue to drive for as long as safely possible.
