This class will go over everything having to do with a Roth. This will include Roth IRAs, Roth 401ks, Roth SIMPLEs, Roth SEPS, and more. Initially introduced in 1997 and since greatly expanded while being misunderstood as well as underutilized.

History of Shapleigh
with Shapleigh Historical Society

Join the Acton-Shapleigh Historical Society for a run through of the early history of Shapleigh, starting in 1661. We will discuss the Ossipee Tract, Nicholas Shapleigh, and the creation and structure of early town offices. We will also talk about Town Farm in Shapleigh that supported the needy, elderly, and mentally ill, as well as free public education and the temperance movement in Shapleigh.

Raising a Relative's Child

With the number of relatives raising relatives increasing in the State of Maine, come join us for an informational evening. As AFFM highlights some of the unique circumstances kinship families face, they will also share resources and services available to kinship families. Whether you are a grandparent that has been raising your grandchild since birth or a cousin that was granted guardianship last week, if there is DHHS involvement or none, this is an opportunity to learn what is out there to support you as you care for a relative’s child. More importantly, there is the opportunity to connect with other families in similar situations. Free childcare is provided.
