Citizens Police Academy
with York County Sheriff's Office
Get an inside look at the York County Sheriff’s Office and learn about the different aspects of police work as a rural deputy. You will learn about the history of sheriffs and how the sheriff's office is structured with three major divisions. Because you will receive an "inside look" at all the sheriff's office functions, a background check will be required. There are 16 contact hours scheduled with a mandatory ride-along with a patrol deputy scheduled at your convenience . While it is recommended that students not miss any classes, if a student misses more than two classes, they will be recycled to another academy that better suits their schedule.
