Required Supplies:
Blank Journal or Sketchbook– Recommended size: 5”x7” to 8”x10”.
Matte gel medium and washi tapes
Scissors, pencil and eraser
Pens: Writing pen, white gel pen, and paint pens
Smaller watercolor set and palette (coated paper plate is fine)
Brushes including a Size 6 round and a small detail brush
Collage materials

Dive into relational strategies that foster youth mattering. Experiencing mattering is linked with a significantly lower risk of considering suicide, substance use, and improved lifelong health outcomes. This work begins in early childhood education. Integrating discussion questions, participants will have an opportunity to learn the key ingredients of mattering and to practice mattering strategies with one another that they can bring to their work in early childhood education, caregiving, and community building.
