Massabesic Adult and Community Education and Parsons Memorial Library invite you to join us each month to meet new people, build a sense of community, and enjoy learning from guest speakers and community organizers each month. Pre-registration required.

October: October's Speaker will be Andy Chandler from AARP presenting on spotting and avoiding scams. There will be complimentary cider and dounts.

Create the perfect eco-friendly, reusable gift bag for the holidays, birthdays, or just because! A variety of fabrics will be provided to make two bags. Additional fabric will be available for sale. Some sewing experience required. Bring: scissors, pins/or clips, and a sewing machine (bring the manual, if you have it). Sewing Machines are available to borrow.

Dip your toes into the world of 3D design & fabrication in this workshop designed for beginners. This session explores the world of additive manufacturing & the basics of computer-aided design. Participants will use 3D design software (TinkerCAD, Blender, FreeCAD, Fusion360) and slicing software (Ultimaker Cura, OrcaSlicer, Bambu/Creality slicer) during the session to design custom printable files. 

Learn the art of reduction printmaking. Blocks will be pre-stamped to give a basic outline of the design and make it easy to follow along. You will learn to carve, ink, and print your block. Experiment with different colors and techniques to create stunning cards to give as gifts. Everyone will leave class with 10-20+ prints and their carved block that they can use over and over again!

Find yourself asking the question, “How do you get home care services in Southern Maine for myself or a loved one?” We will walk you through the steps to access care in the community. This will also cover access to assisted living and long term care, age well programs, meals on wheels, Medicare, MaineCare, and healthcare power of attorney.

The Nashville Number System is used by musicians around the globe. It opens a door that allow musicians from intermidate to professional to perform together. This system affords all levels of musicians the opporunity to enhance their performance. Instruments not required but encouraged. $10 fee for text book

We’re partnering with Parsons Memorial Library to bring a guest speaker to the second Toddler Time of each month. Learn more about resources available for families while your kids play in the library. Second Thursdays of the month, pre-registration required.
