This is an introductory course for beginners and hobbyists that are interested in learning the basics of GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding). We will discuss concepts of how welding works, safety, machine operation, and basic techniques in MIG welding. Bring: Appropriate clothing and footwear such as cotton-based clothing (non-synthetic, “old” clothing and jackets that you don’t mind getting damaged), leather boots, and hair ties for long hair. Other PPE such as welding helmets, gloves, and safety glasses will be provided but you’re welcome to bring your own if you prefer to do so such as safety glasses that can fit over prescription glasses.
